How it works...
The tape utilizes a decompression action on the skin by lifting the fur or hair. This allows increased blood flow, and waste products to be moved away more effectively by the lymph system. So what does all this mean? Pain receptors are blocked thereby relieving pain. It also stimulates mechanoreceptors in proprioception which promotes better movement after an injury. Taping is highly beneficial for postural issues, edema, inflammation, injury recovery, proprioceptive issues and rehabilitation.
Some uses for taping:
Strains, sprains and tears
Proprioceptive issues in neurological conditions
Postural guidance for enhanced performance
Recovery from injury, post-surgical
Tightness, muscle spasms
Loss of coordination, weakness
Disc bulge in dogs
Prolong the effects of myofascial release
After any kind of bodywork: massage, acupressure, laser
Postural issues/muscle memory training for riders
