"Thanks so much for working with him. He's much more comfortable than he's ever been since we've had him (5 years). Wish we'd known about it earlier. I am definitely an advocate for laser therapy!" LP, Vermont
"The thermal imaging we had her do on our mare was invaluable. She ended up having a suspensory injury that was found before it could have been much, much worse. Will definitely do this again and also to monitor her leg healing. Thanks Willow :)" KV, Vermont
"...I find her advice & insight to be second to none! She's a genuine person, educated & passionate about her work - it shines through the knowledge she shares! When I've got too many opinions concerning supplements and bodywork and such being crammed into my mind, my first reaction is to turn to Willow! I find peace of mind in her mind full of knowledge!" JP, Maine
"Willow has been extremely helpful, in guiding me towards alternative health, for my horse Gunnar. Gunnar has a pelvic fracture that he is healing from, and required some more support, and Willow gave us that support! I am very grateful." CP, Wisconsin
"Fantastic ride today! Even cantered both directions which has been anxiety provoking for her and she was so relaxed I could do a stretchy trot after!!" CT, Vermont
"Willow works on my 10 year old Great Dane and my 18 hand horse and I have seen positive results from her work in both my animals :) " ER, Vermont
"To look back over a month and a half ago when I received the most devastating news that my 16yr old 4 legged child had a significant sized tumor on her liver it seemed as if I only had 2 options...a very in depth surgery that she may not have survived anyway or to put her to sleep in which neither had a right feeling to me it was suggested to me by a veterinary friend who I think highly of to give the pain meds some time and that's just what I did. And so the research began and I got her off dog food and onto a cancer friendly diet, and considered acupuncture but I knew I didn't want to have to travel with her as it's uncomfortable for her so I knew then just what I was going to do and so glad I did I got in contact with Willow Smart who does acupressure and cold laser on dogs and horses and we started our bi-weekly appointments. Honestly I never thought we would be back to where we are today she has been off pain meds for a week now and is back to how I remember her before the horrible news, I know this doesn't make it all go away and she will still have her days but all that matters is it's almost been 2 months (one yr +, 2017) and my girl's alive and not showing any signs of pain!" BB, Vermont
"I am utterly astounded at the response my Greater Swiss Mountain Dog has had to the Laser acupressure she has had! Willow's work in tandem with Chinese herbs has made my lame dog suspected of elbow arthritis completely sound in just a short amount of time. My dog was on two very serious pain medications prior to working with Willow (and using the Chinese herbs with absolutely no improvement in her lameness). She is now completely sound. Willow is very professional and a wealth of knowledge. Very excited to have such an experienced practitioner in the area! Can't wait to have her start working on my horse!!"... CT, Vermont
"I just wanted to thank you for all you have done for my mare. Between the acupressure, laser and the nutritional consultation, she is well on her way to being comfortable in her body for the first time in a long long time. We might even think about showing next season. Happy Holidays Willow! :)" KR, New York
“My eventer, I was just about to retire. I was getting depressed. But after regular sessions with the acupressure and laser, we are excited to announce we will be showing! Thanks so much Willow I never thought it was possible!” DB, Vermont
“Zeke (Great Pyrenees) was diagnosed with REM Sleep Behaviour Disorder. He would seemingly wake up snarling and growling, sometimes running across the room. Needless to say we were both sleep deprived. As Willow worked to balance his energy, these episodes became less frequent and now have completely stopped.” SM, Vermont
“My horse is a 10 year old American Quarter Horse named Otis. I have owned him since birth. In the past 2 years he has been presenting with pain. I have not been able to work him consistently for 3 seasons. Previous to this he was being shown and ridden regularly. It started out with what I thought was a saddle fit problem, but in the end it was much more!
This past year was the icing on the cake for me. There was something really wrong with my horse! He presented in the spring of 2014 to get very grumpy, on and off lame, biting at his girth area while I was riding, shaking his head while being worked. I would go out in the pasture he would see me and run to the other end to get away from me! He became jumpy and afraid of everything around him. This was not anything like Otis, who has always been out going and happy to be with me and enjoyed work. Finally we attended a clinic in July 2014 and Otis was ok one minute then he would shake his head violently and then try to throw himself on the ground to get away from the pain. The clinician said I agree this was pain and to have a vet look at him. This is not a horse that is just being a jerk that there is something wrong!
I spent a lot of money on vet bills and different treatments including injections, which in turn helped but he still had pain. Otis was diagnosed with Kissing Spine from T-13 to T-18. He also had torn a muscle in his neck which had granulated with scar tissue and the vet injected it with Vitamin B-12. Despite injections, massage, acupuncture, chiropractic adjustments and supplements he still had pain. I decided to give acupressure a try. I was referred by my trainer to Willow Smart.
Willow has been working on Otis since September of 2014. We started out with once a month and then went to twice a month for a couple of months. Though I started to see improvement after about the 1st treatment, it wasn't until the 5th treatment when I really started to see Otis start to turn back the hands of time. He still has a long way to go, however what I can't believe is the changes that occurred in just that short amount of time. Otis has now got his personality back, he likes to be with me again. He has stopped his head shaking, his attitude is so much better than it was. He is never grumpy anymore. I find Willow to have a lot of knowledge and her healing hands have been great for my horse. Now that she is using the Laser along with the Acupressure, I feel like my horse will be able to be ridden once again. I find acupressure to have a great effect on animals as well as humans! I am so thankful for finding Willow and would recommend her service to anyone who has a horse that needs help. Thanks for everything you have done Willow!” TG, Vermont
“I was surprised that just using one’s hands with acupressure could have so much change for the better in my German Shepherd with severe arthritis. She’s now climbing stairs again! Thank you SO much Willow it brings tears of joy to my eyes now instead of sad seeing her in pain all the time.” JS, Vermont
“We are extremely fortunate to have Willow Smart as a practitioner of Equine and Canine acupressure in our area. The modality of ancient Chinese Medicine is a powerful medicine that uses touch and the use of laser on acupuncture points to heal from the cellular level up in the body. In the past year I have personally studied ancient Chinese medicine for people, as you study this modality, you begin to see the science and the connections in the body. It takes the ‘woo woo’ out of it. It is not so much a mystery. You begin to see how you influence systems in the body with the touch of you hand. It is absolutely brilliant. It is real; I have felt the shifts personally and seen the shifts with my horses with this practice. Traditional Chinese Medicine is safe, natural and non-invasive. It is gentle and comforting. It can release pain. It can shift energies in the body towards healing. It is one of the oldest medicines on the planet, but sadly it has not been a part of our Western culture. I believe there are positive attributes from Western and Eastern medicine, but I also feel the pharmaceutical industry has helped to squash this ancient knowledge. There is gigantic money involved in drugs for both humans and animals to try to maintain good health.
I have a 20 year old Belgian that has ringbone and sidebone. We have been able to keep him more comfortable and he is still able to be in work with Willow Smart on our team of health care. Willow has the feel and knowledge of this modality, and I am so grateful to be able to tap into her expertise to help keep my horses feeling the best that they can.” DR, Vermont
“I just wanted to thank you for the outstanding work you have been doing with my 24 yr old AQHA stallion The Contortionist. L'eggs has gone from being a grumpy old man to his former super sweet lovable old self:) He is definitely feeling much better, he has gotten the spring back in his stride and is talking sweetly to the mares again.
Also impressive is the change in his manure. He has gone from having frequent liquid manure to good firm ‘road apples!’ No more mess on his back legs, such a relief that his digestive system is on a better track! I would like to keep him on a monthly schedule to continue improving his digestive and immune systems as well as his general good health. Thank you again for helping him so much!” RR, Vermont
“Willow’s passion for animals is so inspiring. They really respond to her in a way I have not seen before.” MT, Vermont
“Willow has been a huge support helping with many of my horses. She's put in a great deal of time and research finding the best herbal and dietary balances for my neurological colt and my mini with Lyme disease, as well as help finding the right Homeopathic remedies for each. Willow is the reason my horses are sound and progressively getting better and better every day. I'm so glad to have such a knowledgeable person to refer to when my ponies were in need and traditional medicine had no options left. Thanks Willow!” JG, Maine
“Thanks so much Willow for the work you have done to keep my Border Collie in top working shape on our farm. His cruciate injury never seemed to fully heal until the Acupressure.” DP, Vermont
